That being said, Howard Stern was actually following in the wake of a guy named Steve Dahl out of Chicago. Dahl was one of the biggest FM personalities in America in the late `70’s, and from what I’ve read and some airchecks I’ve heard, some of Stern’s bits in his earliest days in Detroit and D.C. were stolen directly off of Dahl. The whole Stern/Imus feud was even a Xerox of Dahl/Lujack.
Now I’ll get back to listening.
